Via Salaria, 273, 00199 Roma RM, Italy
Rome's second-largest park (180 hectares), in the Salario district north of the city centre. The former private estate of King Vittorio Emanuele III, opened to the public in 1957. Less manicured than Villa Borghese — more woodland, less formal garden — with an artificial lake, riding paths, and a small monastery. The Egyptian Embassy now occupies the historic villa at its heart (closed to the public). Hosts the popular 'Roma Incontra il Mondo' summer concerts each evening from June through August.
