Open only during peak rose-blooming seasons — late April-June and October.
Via di Valle Murcia, 6, 00153 Roma RM, Italy
Rome's municipal rose garden on the slopes of the Aventine, opposite the Circus Maximus, holding around 1,100 rose varieties from across the world. Built on what was the Jewish cemetery from 1645-1934 — the central pathways are still arranged in the shape of a menorah in memory. Open only during the rose-blooming seasons (typically late April to early June, with a second smaller window in October). Hosts the prestigious Premio Roma international rose competition each May. The view across to the Palatine is exquisite. Free.
