Terrazza delle Quadrighe

The highest accessible viewpoint in central Rome, atop the Vittoriano monument at 70 metres above Piazza Venezia. A panoramic glass elevator takes you up in about 30 seconds, and the open-air terrace at the top gives a near-360° view stretching from the Colosseum and the Forum to St. Peter's dome and the Alban Hills on a clear day. EU citizens under 25 get a reduced ticket; bring ID. The bathroom is one elevator ride away from the terrace.
