Ponte Fabricio, 00186 Roma RM, Italy
Built in 62 BC by Lucius Fabricius, this is the oldest Roman bridge in Rome still in continuous original use — over 2,000 years of foot traffic. It connects the east bank of the Tiber to Tiber Island via two main stone arches. Look for the four-faced herm sculptures (giving it the local name 'Ponte dei Quattro Capi'), and notice the small relieving arch through the central pier — clever Roman engineering that lets floodwater pass through, easing pressure on the main spans.
