Piazza della Repubblica, 00185 Roma RM, Italy
An elegant semicircular square laid out in the 1880s that follows the curve of the ancient Baths of Diocletian — its shape literally preserves the footprint of the imperial bath complex's exedra. Anchored by the Fountain of the Naiads and the basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli (built by Michelangelo inside the surviving baths). It's also a major transport hub directly above the Repubblica Metro station, and a useful staging point for trips to Termini Station nearby.
