Rome's largest urban archaeological park (126 hectares). Less visited but rich in Roman ruins.
Via Casilina, 00177 Roma RM, Italy
A 126-hectare archaeological park in eastern Rome, covering the site of Italy's first military airfield (1909) and protecting ancient Roman villas, frescoes, and tombs underneath. Recently restored and partially reopened with new walking paths. Reachable by Metro Line C. Combines aviation history (the city's first powered flights took off here) with deep ancient history.
