Parco della Caffarella

A 190-hectare valley park between Via Latina and the Via Appia, preserving an extraordinary piece of Roman countryside (Agro Romano) inside the city limits. Sheep still graze the meadows, and the park contains Roman ruins including the Sepulchre of Annia Regilla, the Nymphaeum of Egeria (a sacred spring), and a 6th-century church. Reachable from Metro Line A (Colli Albani or Furio Camillo stations). One of Rome's most authentically rural-feeling green spaces.
