The strip of public gardens encircling the moat of Castel Sant'Angelo, between the castle and the Tiber. Green lawns, sculpted hedges, fountains, and benches make it a pleasant place to pause between St. Peter's and the historic centre. The pedestrian Ponte Sant'Angelo (with Bernini's angels) crosses the river just south of the gardens.
