The most debated coffee in Rome, and arguably the most famous. Since 1938, Sant'Eustachio has guarded its espresso recipe jealously — the shot is prepared behind a screen. The Gran Caffè arrives pre-sweetened with a dense cream made from the first drops of espresso whipped with sugar; if you don't want it sweet, specify 'amaro'. Long queues that move quickly.
