The Anglican Church in Rome, on Via del Babuino just off Piazza del Popolo. Designed in 1882 by the prolific English architect George Edmund Street (best known for London's Royal Courts of Justice) in a striking Victorian Gothic style — the red-and-white striped brick facade and pointed arches stand out distinctively among Rome's Baroque churches. Notable as the first non-Catholic church permitted to be built within the Aurelian Walls after Italian unification in 1870 ended the Papal States' restrictions on other faiths. Holds regular English-language services and welcomes visitors of all denominations.
