Piazza Venezia, 00187 Roma RM, Italy
Rome's central crossroads, where the city's main arteries meet at the foot of the Capitoline Hill. The square is dominated by the white marble Vittoriano (Altare della Patria), and on the north side stands Palazzo Venezia — the 15th-century palace from whose central balcony Mussolini delivered his most notorious speeches between 1929 and 1943. The piazza is currently disrupted by Metro Line C construction works, expected to continue through 2027, so expect detours.
