Via Appia Antica, 136, 00179 Roma RM, Italy
One of the oldest catacombs in Rome, named after the martyr Saint Sebastian (the soldier-saint shot with arrows). The site is particularly important for early Christian history: the bodies of Saints Peter and Paul were briefly hidden here during 3rd-century persecutions, and the walls still bear graffiti from pilgrims invoking them — the earliest written evidence we have of devotion to the two apostles. Combine with the basilica above and the surrounding Appian Way park.
