Stadio Nicola Pietrangeli (ex Pallacorda) — Foro Italico
Tennis
Included with Foro Italico grounds pass during Italian Open. Open to public for Italian Open (May). Historic Carrara marble grandstands sunken below field level. Inaugurated in 1934 as the Pallacorda, renamed after Italian tennis legend Nicola Pietrangeli in 2006. The oldest and most beautiful court at Foro Italico — sunken into the earth, with Carrara marble grandstands and 18 marble statues surrounding the court. It hosted the 1935 Italian Open and the Italian Davis Cup matches continuously. In 2025, two additional tribunes were added at street level during the complex expansion. An extraordinary piece of Italian sports architecture.
