Biscottificio Innocenti (Trastevere)
Via della Luce, 21, 00153 Roma RM, Italy
A tiny, old-fashioned biscuit shop in Trastevere — one of the very few surviving examples of the neighbourhood's artisanal food tradition, in operation since the 1950s. The Innocenti family makes over 20 varieties of handmade biscuits (both sweet and savoury) on the premises, sold by weight: brutti ma buoni, canestrelli, pizzette, maritozzi, biscotti con pinoli. The shop is tiny, the prices are extremely modest, and the quality is outstanding. Consistently recommended by Rome food bloggers, the Elizabeth Minchilli guide, and Trastevere food walk operators as one of the most authentic surviving Roman food artisans. Not easy to find without looking for it.
