A 17th-century papal palace designed by the rival architects Bernini, Borromini, and Maderno, now Italy's national gallery of antique art. Highlights include Caravaggio's Judith Beheading Holofernes and Narcissus, Raphael's La Fornarina, and Holbein's portrait of Henry VIII. The Pietro da Cortona ceiling fresco in the Salone is one of the great Baroque illusionistic paintings. Ticket also covers the Galleria Corsini in Trastevere within 10 days.
